After the scenic overkill at Glacier National Park yesterday, we got back to the campground in the rain to this.....not really a rainbow....more a rain streak.
But, whatever it was, we celebrated it with 2 flavors of summer sausage and cheese.
We got on the road early this morning. Bout 9:30. A stop at the gas station first, because it will be much higher in Canada.
We stoped at the customs place going in to Canada, only because I was told that they get real upset if you don't. It was a terrible experience! They wanted to know about my guns, my wife, my criminal record. HELL, I don't even know these people!
BUT ... they did welcome us.
After we got away from the cops at customs, I decided that I really liked Canada. The speed limit is 110! Fuel is $1.10! You can't beat that.
The next 200 km (or whatever) was rolling hills and farm land. We think this yellow stuff is clover.
Pam took this pic of a rather unique building. Not sure what it is.
BUT, this Guy has 2 of them!
We finally got through all the traffic in Calgary and landed at the Bow Rivers Edge Campground. We were lucky to get in as the Calgary Stampede is going on.
After we got settled in, Pam and Lon went to Safeway and Heidi went fishing in the Bow River.
Lon made tacos.
And all ate well!
Tomorrow Pam and Lon are going to the Stampede and Gail, Heidi, and I are going to take a "dayoff"... MAYBE.
